East Thames has secured planning permission for a new affordable housing development on Sutherland Road, Walthamstow, building on the huge success of its Papermill Place development.
The new scheme, made possible thanks to £1.6m funding from the Mayor of London, will provide 59 new homes in four separate buildings, along with parking, shared communal gardens and a health centre. The development will offer affordable home ownership to local residents, with 43 of the properties available for shared ownership. The remaining 16 homes will be available for affordable rent.
East Thames has worked with architects Levitt Bernstein, CMA Planning and Waltham Forest Council on the scheme which will provide much needed affordable housing for the Borough’s residents. It builds on the success of East Thames’ Papermill Place scheme, which already houses 343 residents. This latest phase will bring new amenities to the community and further regenerate the Blackhorse Lane area.
