A new accommodation block to house medical students, nurses, and other hospital staff will shortly begin to take shape on land near to the entrance of the Peterborough City Hospital site at Bretton Gate.
The four-storey block, which will be made up of 111 single en-suite rooms, will ensure staff are provided with top quality accommodation once the move from the current facilities at the Peterborough District Hospital site is complete.
It is hoped the modern accommodation, combined with the state-of-the-art facilities at Peterborough City Hospital, will also attract more medical students to work in the city in the future.
Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has teamed up with Peterborough-based off-site construction specialist Elliott for the build, which is due to be completed in the Spring 2014.
