St Mary Magdalene is a beautiful grade 2 listed church building located in Stoke Bishop, Bristol. The internal reordering was the first of a 2 phase scheme; the second phase will be a two storey side extension containing the necessary facilities for the church to continue to grow.
The lighting in St Mary’s Church is part of the architectural success of this internal reordering. It plays with the verticality of the space and rebounds off the re-decorated walls, enhancing the existing church colours and detailing.
By being able to remove the pews and laying a new seamless floor with underfloor heating, it has given the church the opportunity to be used regularly throughout the week.
The reordering has created a more welcoming church, inviting all who peek through the door.
