This landmark building is located in Shenzhen’s new Financial District, adjacent to the administrative and cultural centre of the city. It is designed to be one of the first buildings to achieve the highest local green building standards.
With a total floor area of 175,000 m2, the 245m-tall, 51-storey building houses the Shenzhen Stock Exchange offices, a trading floor, registration and clearing house, the Securities Information Company and ancillary services.
he building features a floating base edged up the tower to become a three-storey-high platform supporting the main elements of the Stock Exchange. The space between the raised platform and the ground is used as a covered urban plaza, large enough to accommodate public gatherings and performances. Financial information streams down digital banners hanging from the elevated podium.
The platform is supported by a network of transfer trusses, designed to withstand gravity loads and typhoon and earthquake forces. This innovative structural design has met stringent seismic requirements.
