Queensway Technology Park in Fife Scotland is being developed by AOC Group with Skanska as construction partners and funding has been allocated for the first phase of what could become a £100 million centre of excellence for technology.
Phase 1 will see the construction of a 50,000 square foot 3.5 MW data centre comprising four data halls built around core infrastructure including grade A office accommodation and commissioning halls.
The primary power source will come from the onsite combined heat and power (CHP) plant developed by RWE Innogy which is nearing the final stages of completion at a cost of £200 million.
Using a combination of the latest building and engineering techniques, DC 1 will be built with a target of BREEAM excellence and a power usage effectiveness (PUE) rating of less than 1.2.
