ISG is underway with an £8.5 million office refurbishment scheme at Heathrow Approach in Slough, the company’s first project for Sampension KP International – one of Denmark’s largest pension management firms.
Occupying a strategic location adjacent to the M4, the project involves the refurbishment of the seven-storey, circa 83,000 sq ft office building, including extensive remodelling of the property’s entrance, atrium and main reception area, as well as significant external works and hard landscaping to improve its aesthetic appeal and visual impact.
Internal enhancements include the upgrade of the buildings mechanical and electrical services infrastructure and the replacement of lifts. Within the atrium, ISG will replace the existing stone flooring and re-clad the walls with a combination of high-gloss lacquered panels, fabric covered panels and wood veneer.
Improvements to the external appearance of Heathrow Approach include the redesign of an existing brickwork fin element, which will be extended and reclad, with a modern backlit lighting system extending the full height of the enlarged fin. New cladding elements will also be introduced to two vertical columns that rise up through the atrium, which will also be illuminated, to provide additional visual impact. ISG will also carry out improvements to the existing lake within the grounds and carry out a range of hard and soft landscaping enhancements.
