Countryside Properties has submitted an outline planning application to develop a major site covering almost 200 acres to the North West of Bury St Edmunds. The plans include the creation of around 900 new homes, as well as a range of community amenities and land reserved for a new primary school.
The Bury St Edmunds Vision 2031 consultation has identified that 5,500 new homes are needed in the town by 2031 to meet the projected demands from the growing population of the area, and cites North West Bury St Edmunds as a significant contributor in meeting this demand. Of the 900 new homes, there will be a mix of sizes and tenures, including 30% available through affordable housing schemes.
