Nicholas Hare Architects are delighted to be part of the team which will deliver an ambitious vision for Milton Keynes Museum – creating a national attraction welcoming more than 100,000 visitors a year.
They are working with Wates Construction and Mather & Co to deliver the Museum’s £7.5m expansion including two major new galleries which will tell the area’s story from pre-history to present day. The project has been made possible through funding from Milton Keynes Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England.
John Leonard, Partner Nicholas Hare Architects, commented:
“We were fascinated by the museum’s existing collection and fully support its aim to capture and display the unique history of Milton Keynes. This expansion is a tremendous opportunity to build high quality galleries and revitalise the experience for visitors.”
Bill Griffiths, Milton Keynes Museum Director, said:
“We don’t want to be like any other museum, but to produce something that, like the present museum, has heart and soul.”
