A £5.3 million pound project to reduce traffic around Trowbridge has been officially handed over to Persimmon Homes.
The UK’s leading housebuilder and Cuddy Construction oversaw the complex planning, design and construction of the new Leap Gate Link Road near to the East of Trowbridge, which has taken four years to construct.
Representatives from Persimmon Homes and Cuddy Construction gathered this week to mark the completion of the 2km road, with a date to be announced by Wiltshire Council on its opening in the new year.
The road is the second phase of easing congestion in the community and will connect to the recently opened Hilperton Relief Road. It will give access to the Trowbridge development from West Ashton Road in the south and the A361 Hilperton Drive/Devizes Road from the north.
News of the bypass completion is a welcome boost to the community where Persimmon Homes Wessex has its Castle Mead development.
