Construction on a groundbreaking scheme to turn abandoned factories into hundreds of new homes and business space is underway in Tottenham.
The 1.5 hectare development at Lawrence Road, backed by Haringey Council, will bring more than 260 houses and apartments – replacing empty and unused 1960s industrial warehouses that have blighted residents for years.
Up to 50 jobs could be created by new street-level commercial units that will give local residents a wider choice of businesses, supporting the council’s £50,000 refresh of shopping areas on nearby West Green Road.
The carbon-efficient building boasts more than 370 cycle spaces and is within 10 minutes walk of Seven Sisters Station, offering fast Tube, train and bus links to central London, Stansted Airport and beyond.
