A £150,000,000 mixed-use regeneration scheme on an existing brownfield site on the edge of Lake Lothing, Lowestoft, Suffolk.
The 900,000 sq ft mixed-use residential development will incorporate innovative flood proof housing, a marina to include a state-of-the-art yacht club, a new primary school and commercial centre with cafes and public open space. The scheme has been designed to encourage new wildlife into the neighbourhood and also includes a comprehensive cycle network, along with generous shared amenity space and a new public square at the heart of the scheme.
The development will provide 850 private and affordable new homes comprising terraces, mews, townhouses and apartments, each with varied typologies that respond to their locality within the site.
New homes, along the waterfront influenced by Dutch housing design, will sit on stilts, three meters above ground level making them entirely flood proof. This will also allow new wildlife to flourish in an area that seeks to enhance the natural habitat and bring new species into the neighbourhood.
