The Stride Treglown designed Jigsaw Building, named after the Jigsaw Charity which partially funded the £5.7 million project, has officially opened at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital on behalf of the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals Trust.
The 21,000 sq.ft building will provide a centre of excellence for women’s health, with leading facilities for oncology, haematology, gynaecology, breast care and early pregnancy, as well as cancer and blood disorders. Consulting and exam rooms and admin spaces for staff have also been included in the design.
Jessica Ellis, Architect at Stride Treglown, commented:
“We’ve worked well with the client, design team and the contractor to achieve a striking new out-patients facility for the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. It’s been great to work with the Client and the Charity to utilise their money in the best way possible. The outcome will hopefully benefit the local community and provide the latest healthcare technology to patients”
