Sovereign Housing Association’s proposals to build five one- and six two-bedroom apartments at Himley Lodge on St John’s Road were approved by West Berkshire Council planners on 21 February.
Work to convert the building is expected to start this summer.
The original exterior of the three-storey Himley Lodge building will remain intact. The annexe to the rear, which is not suitable for conversion, will be demolished and replaced with a two-storey apartment block.
