The former hotel, closed in 2012, took up his quarters there for almost 30 years, in one of the four monasteries that make up the Abbey of Fontevraud, the priory of Saint-Lazare. The creation of hotel facilities in a historic building fully rated and international reputation, had at that time a certain audacity and was shown a pioneering spirit. With 52 rooms and a restaurant, the hotel must be completely restructured and redesigned in-depth features.
The new hotel embodies the ambition of the Abbey of Fontevraud, that of a city which crosses history.
After 18 months of study and research, funded by the Regional Council of Pays de la Loire, the new hotel will open its doors in the second half of 2013.
