The updated masterplan was approved by Leicester City Council in April 2014 as part of the implementation of the University’s 2012 outline planning permission. This will enable the University to continue the transformation of its campus with a further £90m investment in new sector-leading teaching facilities, student accommodation, support services and new and enhanced public space.
Turley has worked alongside the University Estates team for the past 12 years, producing the original 2004 masterplan. Several phases have been completed including the Magazine Gateway public realm scheme which links De Montfort to the City Centre. Turley has provided planning, urban design and sustainability advice, helping guide the estates strategy and enabling the delivery of key development projects.
