The project being developed by The West Quay Development Company Partnership LLP, will include a total of 853 apartments, 3 levels of car parks constructed from the sea bed, and over 2,000m² of shops and leisure space. Phase one is part of a series of planned developments which will include a 40 storey tower and the works will see the creation of a new landmark for the city.
FDS Consult created an alternative design for the development’s three-level basement car park, which included the use of an enhanced car park ventilation system to protect the staircase and lifts of the residential cores from smoke ingress, justifying the removal of ventilation for the cores’ lobbies, providing further cost savings.
Phase one of the development is expected to be handed over for occupation in 2016.
