Work is well under way on a new housing development in Norton Canes that will support around 2,000 jobs locally.
Housebuilder Persimmon Homes West Midlands has started building at Norton Hall Meadow, in Norton Hall Lane, a joint development with Bloor Homes that will provide around 449 homes in total.
Persimmon Homes West Midlands will build 314 of those properties, providing two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and hopes to launch the development in early 2019.
The development will support nearly 2,000 jobs locally, including direct staff, contractors and the wider supplier network.
Stephen Cleveley, director-in-charge of Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “Our development will provide a range of much-needed new housing in a sustainable and attractive location close to the centre of the village.
“We have had lots of enquiries with people already expressing an interest in the site, which we aim to launch in the new year.
“We have worked closely with council officers to design a sensitive scheme with significant areas of public open space which will help preserve and enhance the character of Norton Canes. We believe the development will appeal to a wide cross-section of buyers.”
Once Norton Hall Meadow is launched, people will be able to buy off-plan, Stephen added: “Buying off-plan means purchasers can secure their preferred property and location within the development. In addition, reserving at this stage means customers can truly personalise their home by choosing from a range of ‘finishing touches’ – fixtures and fittings items such as kitchen units, appliances, waterfall showers, wall tiles and flooring options.”
