Three site managers across two of Duchy Homes’ housebuilding divisions have been recognised as Commended Winners in NHBC’s national Health and Safety Awards.
David Mills, Dean Ellis and Peter Hines all received awards for their developments in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Cheshire. Winners were announced on 23 May 2018 by NHBC, the leading standard-setting and consumer protection body for new homes in the UK, which commends top scoring sites judged on multiple inspection visits.
Duchy Homes, with four divisions now across the north of England and the Midlands, has repeatedly cemented its reputation for the highest standards by winning year-on-year in these industryacclaimed NHBC Awards. These latest commendations now total eleven NHBC Health and Safety Awards to have been won by the house builder in the last six years.
The Awards are independently judged by CITB, Health and Safety Executive and Construction Products Association. These awards offer builders the opportunity to gain independent verification of the effectiveness of their health and safety practices.
Duchy Homes Group Construction Director, Darren Howell, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be given this award for three of our sites! Health and Safety lies at the heart of each of Duchy Homes and is integral to achieving quality on-site. As part of our commitment, we have heavily invested resource and time into maintaining the highest standards for our site teams and our visitors. We are very proud to be recognised in this way.”
Stephen Ashworth, NHBC Health and Safety Services Manager, said:
“Congratulations to all the winners on achieving their NHBC Health and Safety Commended Award. In 2018 we saw a record number of entries and an outstanding shortlist of finalists.”
David, Dean and Peter will now go on to compete for a National Award at a gala awards ceremony held in Birmingham in July.
