Stocksigns, one of the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of health and safety and construction signage, has achieved gold level membership from the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS). This forms a key pillar of the company’s progressive CSR policy, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable business practices and helping to reduce the environmental impact of the construction sector.
Stocksigns, based in Surrey, has been providing high-quality signage to the construction, facilities management, rail and manufacturing sectors since 1955. Committed to reaching Net Zero by 2030, Stocksigns has implemented a range of proactive measures. These include the installation of solar panels, investing in energy efficient manufacturing technologies, supporting reforestation projects, reducing its vehicle fleet and offering recyclable and closed-loop compatible signage.
Danny Adamson, Managing Director at Stocksigns commented,
“Achieving gold level membership from the SCSS has been a crucial step. Introducing operational and procedural changes are all very well, but we also need employee awareness and engagement to have a real, lasting impact. The resources available through the SCSS have really helped us to educate and train employees across our teams.”
Launched in 2012, the SCSS is a learning platform that aims to upskill those working within the built environment sector. Achieving gold membership not only requires re-assessment, it also mandates the use of school resources for internal training, the dissemination of knowledge amongst others members and a demonstratable increase in sustainability competence.
Danny concluded:
“We are proud of our progressive CSR policy and believe this plays an important role in setting us apart as a business. Membership of the SCSS is crucial as knowledge sharing and different insights can help expose us to new ideas to then apply to our business and supply chain.”
