SevenHomes, the regional housebuilder by SevenCapital Group, has secured the former Ross House medical facility in Northfield and part of the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch to provide a total of 130 new homes equating to £30m GDV across the two sites.
In Northfield, the 2.4-acre brownfield site, located off Sheldon Road, will be redeveloped to feature a total of 30 new two, three and four-bedroom family homes, in terrace, detached and townhouse styles.
The Crescent, as the new-build development will be known, benefits from leafy surroundings close to main roads and rail links into Birmingham, the M5 / M42 motorway links along with the multi-million pound shopping facilities in Longbridge and the green spaces of Cofton Park and the popular Lickey Hills Country Park.
The Redditch site, Wire Croft, is larger at 5.85 acres and located within the vast Alexandra Hospital site, adjacent to Wirehill Wood. Wire Croft will feature 100 new homes; a mix of one-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom two storey terraced and detached houses.
As well as being close to the hospital and Wirehill Wood, the new homes will be a short five-minute drive or bus ride into Redditch town centre and the train station, with a direct train into Birmingham.
Jonathan Richards, development director at SevenHomes commented: “Both of these sites being acquired from the respective NHS Trusts means vital funds will be ploughed straight back into local important health service whilst allowing each area to be given a new lease of life and provide much needed, quality new homes for first time buyers and families alike.
“Due to their nature and locations being highly sustainable and brownfield , each will allow us once again to regenerate and place make derelict and underused urban sites into attractive places to live which as our track record demonstrates is something we at SevenHomes and the SevenCapital Group do particularly well. We look forward to delivering high quality homes catering for the requirements of modern living.
Work will now begin on outlining planning applications for the Northfield and Redditch sites.
