Ramboll, the engineering, design and sustainability consultancy, has today announced the promotion of Jason Layfield to executive director of Buildings for the UK, following a 22-year career at the company. The company also welcomes Jules Handy, joining as Ramboll’s head of building structures – Jules joins Ramboll following 16 years at Atkins. The double appointment will help drive the continued growth of Ramboll’s expertise in delivering sustainable buildings.
Jason joined Ramboll as an assistant engineer in 2001. Soon after, he was selected for the first intake of the company’s Horizon Project, which recognises, supports, and develops its future leaders. Since then, Jason has headed up several teams and regions which have flourished under his leadership, delivering on complex and challenging projects across the world in the energy, defence, marine and heritage sectors.

Jules Handy, joins as Ramboll’s head of buildings structures, brings an excellent track record in the design and delivery of buildings for public and private sector clients. Over her 17-year career at Atkins, she worked across a range of sectors including manufacturing and industrial, education, commercial, tourism, residential, aviation, defence, and transportation. She brings with her to Ramboll a passion for developing people, creative design and innovation, and a strong client focus.
