Whilst Levels 1 to 3 of the Design Service are free and can be undertaken at any point during the Plan of Work, the design liability always remains with the specifier. By contrast, Levels 4 and 5 require a design contract and a bespoke quotation, meaning that Newton Waterproofing will take the design liability for the waterproofing aspect of the project.
The RIBA Plan of Work organises the process of briefing, designing, delivering, maintaining, operating, and using a building into eight stages. Using this framework as guidance, Newton is able to explain the Design Service offering when they act as the waterproofing design specialist on a project, with bespoke specifications backed by PI insurance, design liability, and optional A-rated, insurance-backed guarantees.
