The UK’s first Carbon Neutral open space management company, Meadfleet, are supporting United Nations backed charity Ripple Africa in two innovative projects.
As experts in open space management, Meadfleet place sustainability at the heart of their activities. With ambitious goals to reduce emissions and waste plus an in-house Ecology and Conservation team leading innovative wildlife initiatives, they are focussed on playing their part in protecting the environment.
After signing up to the United Nations Climate Neutral Now initiative, Meadfleet selected Ripple Africa’s UN verified fuel-efficient stove project to offset their emissions and achieve Carbon Neutral status.
Not content with just offsetting current emissions, they went one step further and obtained carbon credits equivalent to more than their estimated total emissions for the previous 25 years since they began operating.
In addition, the experienced open space management company are also supporting Ripple Africa’s planting scheme in Malawi, helping to protect indigenous trees and provide a sustainable source of timber. Following an initial donation of 1000 trees in 2021, Meadfleet invited it’s 30,000 customers to get involved over the last few months and donate to the scheme. With customers generously providing funds for 378 trees, Meadfleet have topped this up to reach a donation of 1000 trees in February 2022.
Meadfleet look forward to continuing to reduce and offset their carbon emissions and supporting Ripple Africa’s exciting projects.
