The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) is today launching its fifteenth biennial Master Builder Awards, a national competition that celebrates the best of the UK’s builders.
After one of the toughest years, with the impacts of the pandemic hitting SME builders hard, we are all in need of a great reason to celebrate high-quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and building excellence.
Master Builders are recognised as the badge of quality, and these awards are an opportunity for the best of the best to shine. Whether it’s showcasing spectacular renovations, quality house building, innovative sustainability or beautiful commercial projects, there is a wide range of categories to enter. Clients can also celebrate their favourite builder who has gone the extra mile by nominating an outstanding individual tradesperson.
With the chance to win the grand prize of an Isuzu D-Max Pick Up worth more than £36,000, the 2021 Master Builder awards open for nominations today. We will hold eleven devolved and regional awards ceremonies across the UK before finalists compete for the overall national titles.
Brian Berry, Chief Executive of the FMB, said: “2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, not least our hard working local builders who have sprung into action to ensure that our homes are fit for purpose in the ‘new normal’. Master Builders have demonstrated agility, resilience, and dedication to their workforce during this turbulent time, and I think it’s only right that we come together to celebrate quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and building excellence. I am delighted that we are once again partnering with Isuzu and would encourage all Master Builders to enter. If you’re not already a member, there’s still time to join to be eligible for the awards.”
George Wallis, Isuzu Head of Marketing, said: “The Master Builder Awards celebrate the best of the UK building industry, and I’m very pleased that Isuzu is a part of this wonderful series of events. I am consistently blown away by the quality, passion and professionalism of Master Builders and their dedication to craftsmanship and customer service. 2020 has been a difficult year for the building industry and those that supply to it, but I also feel that the pandemic has shone a light on the importance of our homes and local community. Celebrating amazing building projects is an important way to recognise that.”
Tom McCrank, Director of MCK Construction, 2019’s overall winner, said: “When I set out on my Master Builder Awards journey, never in a million years did I think we would win. But that’s just it – you have to be in it, to win it. Winning the award has helped me to elevate the business by raising our profile and building confidence in our brand. It also meant a lot to my staff, and I was really pleased to have the opportunity to celebrate them and give something back. 2020 has been a difficult year, so the awards are a great opportunity to come together and celebrate the building industry.”
