Keen to help push forward the country’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic by getting people working and building a better future, Home Counties family housebuilder Martin Grant Homes has just completed on its first site for 2021, as part of a new acquisition trail. The three-acre site in the thriving community of Loxwood in the Weald of Sussex, will help meet some of the supply requirements for new homes identified by Chichester District Council.
The development, which has outline planning consent, will comprise of 17 private two, three and four-bedroom homes and seven affordable properties, sensitively designed to reflect the character of the local area, and West Sussex vernacular. Martin Grant Homes will now pursue an application for the outstanding reserved matters with Chichester District Council.
The site is located at the southern end of the High Street; historically a former apple orchard when Loxwood and Kirdford’s main industry was wholesale apple growing. It was most recently used as a paddock for grazing.
Lee Atkins, Senior Land Manager for Martin Grant Homes, comments:
“We are delighted to be building in such a popular location as Loxwood. We hope to work closely with the local community and create a desirable new collection of homes for the village, as set out in the local Neighbourhood Plan; to meet local housing needs and attract more families and young first-time buyers to the area.”
Chris Hamilton, Managing Director for Martin Grant Homes, comments:
“This is a great start to 2021, and we look forward to bringing a positive impact to the village community of Loxwood with a collection of quality, beautifully finished new homes. As a local housebuilder, we are delighted to bring our knowledge and expertise to this stunning location and be back building in our heartland.”
Martin Grant Homes expects to start site implementation by mid-2021 and an on-site sales and information centre is planned for summer this year.
