Marley Alutec has contributed to the successful delivery of a stunning new build property in Stapeley, Cheshire – while restoring a developer’s faith in the aluminium eaves industry.
Located within the Cheshire countryside, Broadoaks is a newly built, two-storey contemporary building. N C Architecture designed the property with a holistic approach, with added emphasis on sustainability – a key requirement of the client – by incorporating solar panels and a ground source heat pump to the property to improve energy efficiency.
Due to the homeowner’s requirements and the property’s modern aesthetic, N C Architecture required a sustainable guttering system that would complement the design of the build.
Tony Kaba, Senior Architect at N C Architecture commented,
“We felt a total aluminium eaves approach could provide the level of durability and styling options to meet the homeowner’s design brief. The property required a sleek, contemporary look with minimal maintenance.”
Following the specification of a total aluminium eaves system by the architect, contractor RHB Construction were left to source a supplier. Andy Heath, a Director at RHB Construction commented:
“I was hesitant to work with aluminium as a previous experience with another supplier hadn’t been a positive one. From the onset Marley Alutec took a hands-on approach to the project, getting up on the scaffolding to discuss the options and set a specification which was fit for purpose and, most importantly, installable with minimum fuss.”
Evoke fascia type A was used on the sloping eaves and type B on the bargeboards. Bespoke box end corners were designed to ensure the transition from eaves to bargeboard was unobtrusive yet easy to install. Evolve Ogee rainwater goods and Flushfit pipes were chosen to compliment the contemporary nature of the build, all in RAL7016 anthracite grey.
RHB Construction used the fixings and consumables, such as cleaners and sealants, recommended to ensure the level of durability expected of product manufactured from polyester powder coated marine grade aluminium. At the end of the buildings life, all materials can be fully recycled an infinite number of times.

“We’d like to thank RHB Construction for engaging with us throughout the scheme. We were ready and willing to provide on-site support to the installers – Andy and the site team played such a full part in establishing the design and built dimensions for the bespoke items prior to production, our ongoing presence was not required.”
When aluminium eaves systems can be installed easily and cost effectively, they become a more viable option for developers and their architects who are looking for durability and a design edge that distinguished them from the competition.
