Award winning developer, the Hill Group has appointed the NHBC’s former Head of Inspection and Head of Major Projects, Andy Mullins, as Head of Quality – a newly created role which will augment Hill’s longstanding commitment to exceptional build standards.
With over 40 years of experience in housebuilding and construction, Andy will play a pivotal role in maintaining best practice across the Group and will focus on the entire build and sales process, from the commercial team through to customer service. Against the backdrop of a changing regulatory environment, Andy will be responsible for embedding Group-wide processes and ensuring a consistent approach to procedures and build quality across the 6,000 homes currently under construction and 9,000 homes in the pipeline.
Before joining Hill, Andy held senior roles at the NHBC for 11 years, initially spending six years as Head of Inspection, where he was responsible for the inspection service across a third of the UK. Andy was then selected to set up and manage the NHBC Major Projects team, which focussed on their most complex and challenging projects. Andy also played a key role in setting industry standards by chairing the Technical Guidance Group and being a permanent member of the Standards Review Group. Earlier in his career Andy held operational roles with contractor Bovis Construction and developers, including Berkeley Homes and Gladedale Group.
Andy Hill, Chief Executive, Hill Group, said: “We have built our reputation on consistently setting the highest standards across all of our developments and as we evolve and grow, we are determined not to lose sight of our values, heritage and our commitment to quality. In this constantly evolving legislative environment, we not only want to meet the expectations of our customers, regulators and partners, but continue to exceed them. Andy’s unrivalled experience in this field makes him a great asset to the company and I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”
Andy Mullins, Hill Group’s newly appointed Head of Quality, said: “I am very excited to join the Hill Group at this key time, working with the rest of the team to drive the business forward. I am passionate about ensuring the highest standards of delivery across the complete housebuilding process and I am looking forward to contributing to the continued success of the Hill Group.”
Hill has been awarded five-star status in the Home Builders Federation’s annual Customer Satisfaction Survey for the past three years. This year the Group also saw four project and site managers awarded coveted NHBC Pride in The Job Quality Awards, which recognise excellence in terms of staff and site welfare, consistent high standards of workmanship, impressive leadership skills, efficient health and safety controls, technical expertise and interpretation of specifications.
