Plans submitted by Bellway Homes for a development of much needed new homes, have been given the go ahead by the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation on the edge of Ebbsfleet Garden City, Kent. Bellway has already commenced enabling works to pave the way for the creation of 100 homes, ranging from one and two-bedroom apartments to two and three-bedroom homes.
The development, known as Ebbsfleet Cross is a 4.25 acres site in Craylands Lane, within a former chalk pit and is an excellent location for buyers, with easy access to public transport links and local amenities. The approved plans include a variety of different house styles and sizes to suit a diverse range of buyers. Wheelchair adaptable homes have been included and there is allocated parking on site for each property.
Designed by London-based architects, Pozzoni, this exciting new scheme is visually-distinctive, benefiting from exemplar architecture that will become a positive addition to the local landscape, as well as an appealing focal point for Craylands Lane. The homes will be interspersed with attractive courtyards and landscaped open spaces to create a feeling of a village style community. It is anticipated that construction work will begin later this year with the first phase of homes completing in summer 2020.
Emma Hamlett, Sales Director at Bellway Thames Gateway said:
“The new site within Ebbsfleet Garden City is part of a new chapter, adding homes to an area that has a burgeoning population. We are delighted with the approved designs, and we are confident the development will quickly become an integral part of the neighbourhood, offering first time buyers, families and downsizers an excellent variety of options. The development is within striking distance to Greenhithe, Swanscombe and Ebbsfleet International stations, ideal for travelling professionals.”
Ebbsfleet Cross is a two-minute drive to one of the UK’s largest shopping mall, Bluewater, where almost every item under the sun can be purchased in one ‘easy to use’ experience and includes John Lewis and M&S. Even closer to home, there is a leisure centre just a two-minute walk from the development, while an accessible trail through Swanscombe Heritage Park is just three-minutes away.
Ebbsfleet International, seven-minutes from the development, offers easy commuter access to St Pancras in only 19 minutes. More exotic destinations like Brussels, Lille and Paris are accessible in around two hours, due to the high-speed international service that operates from this station.
Ebbsfleet Cross will appeal to a range of purchasers; the homes are to be available in different sizes and layouts to suit each buyer; with first time buyers, families and professionals all being catered for. All the homes and apartments will be built to a high-quality specification, with balconies to apartments, gardens to houses and allocated parking to all properties.
