Designer Contracts, the UK’s largest flooring contractor, has stepped in to help a local charity’s emergency appeal.
The company has donated a further £10,000 to Ashgate Hospice which is based near to the company’s Chesterfield headquarters. The boost towards the #AshgateUrgentAppeal, was launched to generate vital funds to help the hospice continue providing end of life care while responding to the challenges of coronavirus in the community.
Said Designer Contracts md, Peter Kelsey:
“The pandemic has seen many charities suffer from a dramatic decline in income with fundraising activities cancelled as a result of the COVID lockdown.
“Ashgate Hospice relies heavily on these planned events, which are organised throughout the year. We were delighted to be able to help, as we are all too aware of the amazing work that they do for people in and around the community.”
It’s not the first time the company has supported the hospice. Last year, the team contributed to the charity’s bedroom appeal by helping to turn outdated three-bedroom bays into nine individual bedrooms. And in 2018 the company also redesigned the hospice’s family room making it more comfortable for patient’s families.
The company has also provided further funding during the crisis to ChildLine, sponsoring its services for one day on May 1.
Designer Contracts operates across 15 UK regional facilities. As well as flooring, the company provides curtains and blinds, furniture and lighting, and operates a showhome interior design services division.
The company has recently been recognised as one of the top 200 businesses in Derbyshire and has been highlighted as contributing to the local economy and leading from the front.
