Crown Paints has continued its efforts to add colour to people’s lives during these unprecedented times, through a series of paint donations to community projects across the UK.
The Lancashire-based leading paint manufacturer, which also has a manufacturing facility in Hull, regularly donates paint to local causes and charities through its network of more than 140 Crown Decorating Centres and social enterprise, NIMTECH.
Charlton Crown Decorating Centre recently donated 25 litres of various emulsions and oil-based wood and metal paint to South Rise Primary School’s nursery class as part of a project to improve play spaces for the pupils. Mistints were used for all of the donated paint, as part of Crown’s sustainability ethos which sees the company repurposing paint which can’t be sold by donating it to deserving community projects to create a positive impact.
Daniella Wells, early years teaching assistant at South Rise Primary School said,
“The paints received from Crown have helped to transform the garden and the children are enjoying so many of the new features. Thank you so much for the generous donations given to the nursery class.”
“It has been down to the generosity of Crown Paints and some other local businesses that this has been made possible.”
Manchester Crown Decorating Centre was also able to support local students through a donation of mistints, by supplying the Skills Construction Centre in Manchester with 375 litres of Crown Trade Matt Vinyl emulsion, Crown Trade Silk Vinyl emulsion and Crown Trade Acrylic Eggshell paints to aid students in its painting and decorating classes. As a business, Crown is passionate about supporting young painters and decorators and regularly invests in them as the future of the industry.
Commenting on the donation, Skills Construction Centre Manchester’s acting centre manager, Craig Tansley, said,
“On a recent visit to the local Crown Decorating Centre, the manager was as usual very helpful and informative in selecting products.”
“When I explained that we are a new centre to the Manchester area which supports delivery of construction skills to local 14 to 18 year olds and the unemployed, the store manager very kindly offered to support us with a donation of quality Crown paints for use on our decorating courses – thank you!”
Crown Paints also regularly donates to causes across Hull, where many of its popular products are manufactured, and has offered support to Hull’s RSPCA branch in recent years through regularly donating paint and sundries via its nearby Crown Decorating Centre. The company recently donated approximately 20 litres of Macpherson Trade Paints Gloss to the Hull RSPCA branch, as well as various sundries to enable the team to apply the paint. The animal welfare charity used the donated paint to add some colour to some of the areas around its new modular kennel rebuild, including the stores, workshop, entrance to the cattery, and the new rabbit unit.
Louise Babych, development manager at RSPCA Hull, said,
“We are currently going through a major rebuild of our 82-year-old animal rescue and rehabilitation centre in Hull. Crown Paints has been amazing in providing paint and sundries for us over the last two years to support not only the existing spaces around the new build, but also in providing paint for more specific projects, such as brightening up our Education room and transforming our community garden project with its wide range of colour options.”
“We cannot thank the Crown Paints team enough for their generosity and willingness to help, particularly during these challenging times.”
Commenting on the recent donations, Josie Cawdry, corporate communications executive at Crown Paints, said,
“As a company we pride ourselves on supporting worthy causes which benefit the communities in which we work, so we’re delighted to have played our part in these projects, particularly under such difficult circumstances where many charities and community organisations are relying on extra support now more than ever.”
“It’s great to hear that those involved in all three projects have been pleased with the results, and we’re looking forward to continuing to support deserving projects for the rest of this year and beyond.”
