National architecture firm CPMG Architects is continuing its strategic growth with the recent appointment of Gemma Pont as its new London associate.
Gemma joins the team with several years of international architectural experience across Europe and within the London market. She studied at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB) after growing up in a neighbouring Spanish town. Following her studies, she built up her wealth of experience at several studios in Barcelona and Switzerland, before spending the last five years based at a national practice in the UK capital.
As the first externally appointed associate, Gemma will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the London studio and will manage the team in growing its work across the education, health, residential and commercial sectors.
Gemma said:
“CPMG has a fantastic, well-established reputation and I’m really excited to be working with the dynamic team to continue this success into the future. We already have millions of pounds worth of projects live in the capital alone and I’m looking forward to leading the team in growing this portfolio.”
She joins the architectural practice at an exciting time, as the company has recently opened its third office in Birmingham and continues to win awards, expand its reach and win continued work across a broad range of sectors.
The team has over £80m worth of projects currently on site in London, including the newly completed Eden Park High School along with several other schools and academies. Nearing completion is The Waldrons in Croydon, a multi-million-pound project to create dozens of private and housing associations properties.
Chris White, director in charge of the London studio, said:
“Gemma is an architect with an excellent reputation and international experience, and we are delighted that she has chosen to further her career with us as we aspire to grow our London studio even further.”
“We have steadily increased our turnover in the past few years and are well placed to continue to secure projects of all sizes in this hugely competitive environment. In her new role, Gemma will lead the team in bidding for, securing and delivering work across our key sectors and will be central to our continued strategic growth plans.”
The team has delivered a number of key projects in London, including visitor facilities at HMS Belfast, an eight-floor mixed-use retail and corporate headquarters by Smithfield Market and the luxurious John Pye Luxury Assets showroom in Mayfair.
