Representatives from Rapport Housing & Care and site contractors, Jenner, got together at the site of Meadow View Court in The Orpines, to celebrate the building reaching its highest point.
Guests gathered at the site of the extra care housing scheme, where building work commenced last spring, on Friday 9th January to mark the milestone of the roof going on and to celebrate the scheme nearing completion. Following the ceremony, the group took a tour of the scheme, which will promote independent living with support for over 55s.
Once complete, Meadow View Court will provide 51 one- and two-bedroom apartments, alongside excellent communal facilities, including a hair salon, restaurant and garden. Rapport Housing & Care’s care and support team, Caring Companions, will be on site daily to provide care and support packages* and a member of housing staff will be on site 24/7, giving peace of mind should an emergency arise.
The apartments are available to buy, part buy, or to rent via Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council and will give residents the opportunity to join a friendly and lively community and receive varying levels of support, whilst retaining their independence.
Leon Steer, Chief Executive of Rapport Housing & Care said: “The majority of retirement housing developments tend to benefit those in urban areas, so Meadow View Court will provide much needed provision for the older people of Wateringbury, who need some additional support but would like to remain in the village they live in.”
