The current pergola model and the new wedge-in awning from markilux have each won two prestigious design awards
The “pergola style” is the latest addition to the markilux pergola family. With its delicate stature and effective light system, it adds charm to patios. The new markilux 900 wedge-in awning from the sunshade experts is also stylish and features functional technology. This is why the two models received the “iF Design Award” 2024 seal of approval in addition to the “Red Dot Design Award”.
For manufacturer markilux, the awning summer is starting with a price boon. Two of its products were recognised with international design awards at the beginning of the year.
Success twice over for the “pergola style”
One of the successful models is the “pergola style”, now the fifth pergola model from the awning expert. The elegant post system has a graceful, cubic design with a slimline cassette. Despite the filigree design, the awning is able to shade large areas. With its sleek appearance, the new pergola model won the “Red Dot Design Award” and was honoured with the coveted “Red Dot” label. The awning also won the “iF Design Award”. The judges were impressed not only by the idea, shape and benefits of this model, but above all by its wide range of functions. There is enough space in the slimline front profile for a “shadeplus awning”, which can provide protection against glare and prying eyes. Another special feature is the light system. It ensures that the pergola model has coloured and warm white LED light on board which means the awning, cover and the wall of the building can be effectively illuminated.
“markilux 900” also won a second award
This year, the company is doubly pleased with the prizes it has won. The new wedge-in awning “markilux 900” won the “iF Design Award”. Above all, its simple, chic shape, the installation-friendly technology and the generous shade cast earned it this award, after it had already been awarded the “Red Dot: Best of the Best”. The awning is equipped with folding arms and requires only a slight pitch to provide protection from the sun. This makes it the first model of its kind.
Seal of approval once again confirms developer spirit
Winning two internationally recognised design awards with each of the two awnings is a great success for everyone involved in the development of the products. “It is a reward for many months of focussed work and our motivation to regularly bring new design models with pioneering technology onto the market,” says a satisfied Michael Gerling, Director of R&D and Production. markilux accepted the “iF Design Award” at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin at the end of April. The competition is organised annually by iF International Forum Design GmbH from Hanover. The award ”Red Dot” was awarded by Red Dot GmbH & Co. KG at the “Red Dot Design Museum” in Essen at the end of June.
