Scottish housebuilder Avant Homes has been given the go ahead for a new 120-home development in Baldgragon, after planning permission was granted this week by Dundee City Council.
The 15.35-acre development is located on Baldragon Farm just off Straithmartine Road and forms part of the council’s next phase of its local development plan to deliver quality housing across several Dundee suburbs up to 2029.
Avant Homes plans to deliver a mixture of highly desirable, design-led three and four-bedroom homes across a number of its most popular signature housetypes and will create numerous local sales and construction roles as part of the build.
Works are due to commence on site in October 2020 with the showhomes set to follow shortly after in the New Year. The first homes are expected to be ready for occupation in summer 2021 with the overall build taking around five years to complete.
Avant Homes Scotland regional director, Andrew Gawthorpe, said: “The suburbs on the outskirts of Dundee have become increasingly popular with homebuyers looking to enjoy an out-of-town location while still being close to essential amenities, so we’re pleased to have secured planning permission for 120 homes in the area.
“We look forward to commencing the groundworks at the site later in the year and expect to see the first homes go on sale in early 2021.”
The planned development is ideally situated in a semi-rural location close to Clatto Country Park and less than four miles from Dundee city centre, with excellent road links towards Aberdeen in the north, Kirkcaldy in the south and Perth in the west.
Avant Homes Scotland is an operating company of the Avant Homes group, one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK. It currently operates across 12 sites stretching from Dargavel Village in Bishopton to Newtonlees in Dunbar.
