The ambitious £3 million extension of an activity centre at Adventure Parc Snowdonia in North Wales, Adrenaline Indoors, has recently been completed and the adventure hub is welcoming thrill seekers of all ages looking for their next sporting fix
The building, originally a soft play area for young children, has been extended five-fold through designs from Pozzoni Architecture, so the vast structure with its signature glazed tower now dwarfs the original scheme.
Martin Bransby, director at Pozzoni, said: “The stunning twelve-metre climbing wall to the exterior of the building is a real design feature. The iconic glass tower, shaped like the prow of a ship, has a series of stairwell platforms leading up to the outdoor zip wire attraction. Riders can race each other on tandem lines over the heads of surfers and waves, to the other side of the Surf Snowdonia lagoon.
“It’s been designed as a really dynamic building to match the exhilarating adventures and challenges on offer inside. It has been fully kitted out with bespoke equipment for caving and indoor adventure climbing, as well as some seriously big kicker slides, a ‘stairway to heaven’ and even a leap of faith.
“The newly-extended activity centre promises to be a real pull for people in the local area, with weatherproof activities all year round, all under one roof.”
Andy Ainscough from Adventure Parc Snowdonia said: “We have already welcomed thousands of new visitors to Adventure Parc Snowdonia since we launched Adrenaline Indoors. It’s a real landmark addition to Adventure Parc Snowdonia, and to the North Wales region as a whole.”
