Some new build projects can stop you in your tracks and this two-storey house in Bristol is one of them. The contemporary design has a bold dark brick colour that really makes a statement.
The end of terrace home occupies a plot that had been vacant since the previous house was demolished over 30 years earlier. The plans for this project included building right up to the boundary and the pavement, so access and storage on the site was very restricted. Having received a recommendation, the developer, Hellman Developments, contacted Eurobrick Systems, to discuss rainscreen options for the timber frame building design.
Eurobrick have over 30 years’ experience supplying their brick slip systems and were able to recommend P-Clad as the best solution to provide a rainscreen finish for this type of project, while reducing requirements for storage on-site.
Eurobrick supplied 118m2 of its P-Clad system and specially ordered Vandersanden Livorno brick slips for the project. The popular dark brick was supplied as 22mm thick brick slips and corner pieces to fit the P-Clad system, along with specially made angled corner slips. To complement the dark finish of the Livorno brick slips, Eurobrick’s Charcoal Europoint pointing mortar was chosen.
Hellman Developments felt the project was a great success, with local residents appreciating the eye-catching, modern design.
