Planning consultancy Turley Associates, acting on behalf of Redrow Homes, has secured an outline planning permission for up to 330 new homes in Preston, Lancashire.
The permission, granted at appeal on 12 August, is for a mix of four bed family houses together with a number of two and three bed mews style houses and apartments. The site, located on Lightfoot Lane, Higher Bartle, on the northern edge of Preston, will also provide up to 99 affordable dwellings.
Robin Buckley, senior planning manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said:
“The development will enable us to deliver much-needed high-quality family homes in Preston and will also contribute towards the provision of infrastructure in the North Preston area. The detailed design of the scheme will reflect Preston City Council’s emerging masterplan for North West Preston and is likely to be submitted early next year.”
Sam Ryan, a director in the Manchester office of Turley Associates, said:
“North West Preston has been identified within the Core Strategy as a key location for new homes to meet the housing requirements of Central Lancashire. This is an important appeal decision that will also see much needed affordable housing and infrastructure provided in the local area.”
Over the past 12 months Redrow Homes working with Turley Associates has secured planning permission at appeal for 135 homes at Whittle-le-Woods in Chorley, over 300 homes at Thingwall Hall in Knowsley and 160 homes in Clayton-le-Woods.
