Tree-mendous festive spirit in Marden

The gift of a Christmas tree from housebuilder Redrow has helped spread Christmas joy among the children of Marden.

The company is building at Highwood Green on Goudhurst Road and entered into the festive spirit by donating a Christmas tree, complete with lights, to near neighbours Marden Children’s Centre.

A switch on ceremony was a real community event, with carols performed by children from nearby Marden Primary School, mince pies and a visit from Redrow’s mascots Buster and Buddy Bear.

Frances Thomson, from Marden Children’s Centre, said:

“We’re extremely grateful to Redrow for their generosity in providing the tree and installing power sockets outside for the lights. The Christmas tree looks beautiful in front of the children’s centre and can be admired by everyone in the village.”

As an added gift, Redrow donated high-vis vests to help children be seen during the dark winter mornings and evenings.

Rachael Baillie, sales director for Redrow Homes (South East), said:

“Christmas is a time when communities like Marden really come into their own and celebrate. We were pleased to be able to join in the festivities and meet local residents both old and new. We hope the tree will help spread some Christmas joy around the village.”

Switched on buyers will know that Redrow’s Highwood Green development offers a choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes that wrap up high specification modern interiors with traditional Arts & Crafts inspired exteriors.
