Burgeoning architects, sports and leisure firm, LK2, has appointed two new members to the growing team – talented programme manager, Tom Drew, as sport development manager and Keely as an apprentice in business administration.
Tom’s appointment will bolster the firm’s sport and leisure expertise and Keely has been welcomed to handle support on the administration – key to the smooth running of operations at the busy firm.
Tom’s portfolio of experience has seen him work across well-known sports associations such as the Football Foundation, and more recently the London Community Foundation in the role of programme and relationships manager.
It is Tom’s varied portfolio of experience in the sports industry, which has secured him his role at LK2. Tom will be working across a variety of sports, leisure, recreation, educational and commercial projects across the UK.
“I have always been passionate about the sports industry and in my new role I will be able to continue transforming the sporting infrastructure in the UK. LK2 has been a part of some amazing projects, and I am excited to be part of the consultancy’s future.
“In my previous roles, I have been able to support some fantastic projects which have transformed deprived areas in the UK through sport. Sport and leisure are powerful tools which can support communities, and I am certain I will be part of this at LK2.”
Tom is a PRINCE2 qualified programme manager, and he has led on high profile corporate schemes in the past. As sport development manager, Tom will be producing high quality business plans, supporting grant aid applications, aiding the development of asset transfer proposals and considering alternative approaches to the development of LK2’s projects.
As an apprentice, Keely will be working towards the completion of a Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Business Administration which will she will complete in June 2016.
Keeley recently completed studying at The Priory Academy LSST in Lincoln and has lived in the city since childhood.
“I’m so grateful for this amazing opportunity at LK2. I feel that learning on the job teaches you so much in a short space of time which is why I chose an apprenticeship. Everyone at LK2 have made me feel really welcome and it’s a privilege to have been asked to join the team.”
Gary Johnson, director at LK2, said:
“We are pleased to welcome both Tom and Keely to our team. We are in an exciting period of growth and these appointments are part of that growth and will help us to continue to offer clients our unique mix of services.”
Tom’s diverse range of experience also includes journalistic support at celebrated media outlets such as BBC London and the Observer – where Tom supported on sports news desks.
