Saint-Gobain Glass’ Tech Hub Helps to Advance the Specification of Glazing, focused on Safety, Performance and Sustainability

The recent launch of the Saint-Gobain Glass Tech Hub has resulted in significant growth, in Saint-Gobain’s already high levels of engagement with specifiers, processors and installers of glazing and facades.

The digital platform launched last month, targeted at delivering technical knowledge and expertise to all involved in the glazing supply chain, is particularly useful for specifiers looking for support with specialist glazing projects, such as those requiring laminated glass for acoustic performance, or larger panes of glass for curtain walling and structural glazing.  The platform also provides information regarding Saint-Gobain’s Glass Forever initiative, a sustainability programme focused on developing a circular economy for building glass.

The project to develop the Tech Hub was accelerated by Saint-Gobain Glass during the recent COVID-19 Lockdown, as it was seen as vitally important to launch the market leading platform as soon as was possible, to provide the wide range of tools and resources now available on the Hub.

Since launching the Tech Hub this summer, as Lockdown began to ease, many Saint-Gobain Glass customers and partners involved in the glazing supply chain have accessed the Hub, to help in the specification of Saint-Gobain Glass products, using the Hub’s market leading digital tools and custom resources, including the new Acoustic Tool that has been intuitively designed to provide calculation data and reports in just a few clicks.

Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly from glass processors in the commercial sector, who along with using the digital platform to assist their own business activities are keen to promote the Tech Hub to their customers, who are typically façade fabricators and installers.

The Tech Hub, partnered with Saint-Gobain Glass’ other digital marketing activities, including online events and training, has been vital in maintaining industry relationships and ensuring a strong post-lockdown recovery.

To maintain high levels of engagement there are plans to evolve the Tech Hub by regularly adding new technical content, training materials and further digital tool functionality.
