RIBA London announces Trade Mission to Australia

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) London Region has announced details for its upcoming Trade Mission to Australia. The Trade Mission will start on Monday, 7 September and finish on Friday, 11 September, taking in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Networking opportunities with local partners, officials and potential clients in the form of business matching, networking receptions and site visits to ‘High Value Opportunity’ areas are all included in the itinerary.

The Mission is aimed at practices and architects looking to embark on overseas work, the strong developed economy, similar cultural customs and business practices that make Australia the ideal starting point for UK-based practices looking to work abroad. Practices already with a presence in Australia, wishing to maintain and raise their profile are also being encouraged to sign up. The prestige and global reputation of the RIBA will help open doors to some of the biggest clients and decision makers.

RIBA London Partnership Manager Howard Crosskey said:

“Australia is an advanced global economy celebrating twenty plus years of uninterrupted steady economic growth. Our Trade Mission promises to unlock new opportunities for the architects joining us Down Under and further promote the architecture and design talent the UK has to offer.”

Mr Nick McInnes, British Consul General and Director General UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Australia is holding a Mission briefing session at 18:30 on Tuesday, 14 July at 66 Portland Place for architects and practices interested in attending.
