Quartzelec expands into Birmingham

Quartzelec, a leading independent and international electrical engineering group, has opened an office inBirmingham to better service customers across the Midlands and London.

The company, which expanded into Leeds in 2015, launched its 11th UK office on the back of soaring sales and delivery requirements for their building services and electrical contracting business.

Martin Broughton, General Manager for Quartzelec’s Manchester-based operation, explained:

“We opened an office in Leeds to support local activities and this is already far exceeding our expectations accounting for almost £2.5 million of new business, so rolling out an identical business model in Birmingham was the next obvious choice for us.

“With many of the key contractors we work with already operating in and around Birmingham and a growing number of design, delivery and support contracts across the area, we regarded having a geographical presence here as vital to our ongoing expansion.”

Quartzelec, whose sales had increased by over 50%  for a third year, continues to secure a steady stream of M&E design, delivery and support contracts, many of which are prestigious projects which typically include the delivery of complex and integrated electrical, heating, water, ventilation, communications, building management and lighting systems.

Recent project wins in the Birmingham area or which will be managed from this office include: Wilton’s Music Hall, Northampton Shopping Centre, Friars Mill and the car park for the Riverside Retail Park. Other projects invole work at BBC Birmingham and solutions currently being provided for Wolverhampton Council.

The Quartzelec office is close to the Birmingham NEC and airport at 4200 Waterside Centre, Solihull Parkway, Birmingham Business Park, B37 7YN.
