Photography competition aims to capture moments of light from the lockdown

Light has often been cited as a symbol of hope with the power to unify people. At a time when we’re all searching for ways to be optimistic, London-based architectural lighting consultancy Nulty is encouraging us to look to light for inspiration, by launching a
photography competition on Instagram called “Light Up Your Lockdown.”

From now until the 15th May, Nulty is inviting people to seek out and capture inspirational moments of light through a camera lens. Whether it be a beautiful shaft of light across the wall or floor in the home, or the mesmerising way light filters through a tree on a daily walk, the idea is to share personal experiences of light, together.

To enter Nulty’s Light Up Your Lockdown photography competition, participants need to take a photograph of light that expresses how they feel, and post it on Instagram using @nultylighting and #lightupyourlockdown. At the end of the competition, the team at
Nulty will vote for their three favourite photographs; winners will be announced on Instagram on Tuesday 19 May. The three successful entries will each win an iconic Mathmos Lava Lamp, handcrafted in Dorset since 1963.
