PegasusLife, the developer of aspirational retirement homes which launched just a year ago has already purchased 28 sites and has ambitions for a similar number over the next 12 months. With its first site, Atlantic Rise in Bude, weeks away from completion, and Malt Yard, Woodbridge following closely at its heels, the company is optimistic about what the future holds.
The specialist property developer launched their new vision in November 2013 with the intention of creating desirable homes in beautiful locations for the older generation. Riding on the success of flagship developments at Bude and Woodbridge and with a number of future developments in the immediate build pipeline, the future looks bright for the retirement living specialist.
The venture is headed up by CEO, Howard Phillips together with Creative Director, Roger Black and is backed by Oaktree Capital Management, a leading global alternative asset manager. The company’s central ethos is that everyone, irrespective of age, shares the aspiration to live in a beautifully designed, socially inclusive environment, supported by first class services.
The company is responding to a growing need for properties that meet the aspirations for the ‘over 50s’ market, by creating stylish properties in beautiful locations throughout the UK – from chic city centres to scenic seaside settings and charming market towns. PegasusLife is working with some of the UK’s leading award-winning architects to build properties designed to create a real sense of wellbeing and a great quality of life. They have gone the extra mile in response to the needs and desires of their audience, and the properties have been designed with flexibility in mind, for instance providing sliding walls between certain rooms enabling spaces to be combined.
The first properties launched by PegasusLife are on a beach-front site in Bude, Cornwall and are already 70% sold off plan. Aptly named Atlantic Rise, the site epitomises the PegasusLife vision, this 28 unit development was an important milestone for the company as its flagship first project.
Closely following Atlantic Rise is The Malt Yard in Woodbridge and planning consent has been achieved at sites in Tetbury, Sutton Coldfield and Poole and is expected imminently at sites in Cheltenham, Seaford, Sevenoaks and Dawlish, amongst others.
Howard Phillips, CEO PegasusLife, commented:
“We are very proud of our achievements to date and confident that we can continue to deliver on our promise of desirable homes in beautiful locations, maintained through exceptional service. We have observed a real demand for a better standard of retirement accommodation which offers truly fulfilling lifestyle opportunities and we are committed to providing just this.”
