Property maintenance specialist, Novus Property Solutions, has updated a local heritage centre’s kitchen facilities at a former steelworks site in Wrexham.
The Brymbo Enterprise Centre is designed to preserve the history of the area, which was shaped by the coal mining and steelmaking industries, with regular events to reach out to the local community. An extensive regeneration programme, including a large estate of new homes, is currently ongoing and the centre will be the central hub, drawing on the robust community spirit which has always defined Brymbo.
The centre was in a poor state of repair, with volunteers having to rely on the limited basic makeshift facilities to serve refreshments to visitors at events. Novus Property Solutions, which has an office in Wrexham and has worked closely with Wrexham County Borough Council for several years, donated time and materials to the project as part of its commitment to being a responsible business and making a difference to the communities in which it operates.
The team of five from Novus all pulled together and worked hard to create a new, dedicated kitchen area in the centre by installing new kitchen cabinets and worktops and transforming the space in just one day.
Cllr Paul Rogers, who spearheaded the project, praised Novus’ support. He said:
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved in this project. The development of a heritage centre on the former Brymbo steelworks is an important local regeneration project. The site is now hosting several open days every year and these new kitchen facilities will provide an improved environment for volunteers to serve refreshments for visitors.
“Novus is setting an excellent example of how Wrexham Council contractors are delivering community benefits. Contributions like this can be a major help for community groups and they are very much appreciated.”
