Novus Property Solutions has strengthened its presence in the Peak District after securing an extensive refurbishment and external works contract with Dales Housing.
The two-year refurbishment contract for Derbyshire-based Dales Housing, worth approximately £1.4 million per year, is due to get underway this summer when Novus will provide a rolling programme of refurbishments to properties in the Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Buxton areas.
Dales Housing owns and manages approximately 3,500 properties comprising of family housing, single person’s accommodation and designated flats, bungalows and independent living schemes for the elderly. A not-for-profit organisation regulated by the Homes and Communities Agency, it is the largest social housing provider across the Derbyshire Dales and is part of the Acclaim Housing Group.
The contract will focus on bringing homes up to Decent Homes standard with an extensive bathroom and kitchen refurbishment programme involving around 230 properties over the next two years. In addition, Novus will also carry out roof replacement works for 70 properties owned by Dales Housing at a value of £400,000. Both contracts will be co-ordinated by staff from Novus’ East Midlands office.
Andrew Besford, operations manager at Novus, said:
“It’s vitally important, on a project like this, to be able to build up a strong relationship with Dales Housing’s tenants as we’ll be working predominantly in their homes for the most part. This is something that we pride ourselves on as a company and we look forward to working closely with Dales Housing and its tenants over the next two years to bring these properties up to the Decent Homes standard.”
