New partnerships for Re’s building control team

Re has been chosen by Berkeley Homes (East Thames) Limited as building control consultant for a major building project.

The agreement begins next month (March 2015) and will see Re partner with Berkeley Homes on the Royal Arsenal Riverside development in Woolwich in London.

Re, a joint venture between Barnet Council and Capita that provides development and regulatory services, will oversee the building of 2,032 apartments, making sure all work is safe and meets the necessary standards and regulations. The deal will last between ten and 15 years when the final phase of the development is expected to be completed.

This new partnership follows hot on the heels of Re’s current work with developer, St George Central London Limited, at its Beaufort Park development in north west London and an agreement with Fairview New Homes that was announced in August last year.

Andy Hardy, Re’s building control business development manager, said:

“This new partnership comes at an exciting time for Re and we are pleased that our expertise in building regulations will be central to the development of the Thames riverside.”
