New development set to open in Edwalton

A new housing development being built on the site of an old farmhouse in Edwalton is set to open its doors to visitors.

Bellway is building a range of three, four and five-bedroom homes – called The Hall – on land off Melton Road, Edwalton, close to Wheatcroft Garden Centre and Business Park.

With work progressing well on site, the first plots are due to be released for sale next month, when the development opens to the public.

The development was granted planning permission by Rushcliffe Borough Council last year and work will involve converting two existing barns into homes.

Bellway East Midlands Sales Director Carolyne Watkinson said: “The Hall is a unique development in Edwalton, within walking distance of excellent local amenities and just five miles from Nottingham city centre, yet enjoying picturesque rural surroundings.

“We’re very much looking forward to welcoming the first visitors to the development, where the first new homes are beginning to take shape.

“The Hall will help to deliver much-needed new homes to this part of Nottinghamshire and we have worked closely with the local authority to ensure they will suit the requirements of local buyers.

“We will be offering a range of homes suitable for people at all stages of the property ladder, from first-time buyers and downsizers to families in need of extra space.

“We’re already seeing interest in the new homes on offer here and I would urge anyone hoping to make The Hall their home to register an interest online and make sure they keep up to date with the latest news about the launch.”

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway will contribute more than £70,000 towards improvements to the A52, as well as more than £600,000 towards infrastructure and facilities in the wider area. Twelve of the homes being built will be affordable.

The housebuilder is currently building new homes across Nottinghamshire – in Nottingham, West Bridgford, Linby, Farnsfield and Newark on Trent.
