Mulalley is the first UK construction company to show commitment to improving the welfare of their workforce by purchasing £5000 worth of Construction Industry Helpline wristbands.
The wristbands, to be worn by the workforce, have been developed by the Considerate Constructors Scheme as a way of raising awareness of this valuable resource and to raise money for the funding of the helpline.
The Construction Industry Helpline provides free 24/7 support to the construction industry’s workforce and their families on a range of topics including finance, depression, occupational health and wellbeing, illness and bereavement.
The new helpline is funded via the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity Club through donations from individuals, businesses and construction industry organisations, and through the purchasing of wristbands and posters from the Scheme.
As well as distributing the wristbands, the Scheme has also committed to issuing the helpline posters to all of its registered sites to raise greater awareness of this invaluable support resource.
All profits from the sale of wristbands and posters will be donated to the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity helpline to fund the helpline and its ongoing support to the workforce.
Bruce Benson, Operations Director of Mulalley said:
“Mulalley is delighted to be the first company to support this unique helpline. We do hope that the rest of the industry recognises, as we did, the need to support our workforce in times of need as we feel sure the industry will benefit greatly from this very special initiative.”
Edward Hardy, Chief Executive of the Considerate Constructors Scheme said:
“We are hugely grateful to Mulalley for being the first to commit to the helpline and to encourage its use among their workforce. The helpline receives no public funding so we’re extremely thankful to Mulalley for purchasing helpline wristbands and we would of course encourage all other companies to follow in their footsteps by providing wristbands for their workforce.”
Bill Hill, Chief Executive of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity said:
“The Construction Industry Helpline was launched to support the whole construction community in their time of need. The service is free for all the workforce and their families but we need corporate engagement and support. We are delighted that the Considerate Constructors Scheme have taken this to heart and have brought Mulalley on board who have purchased the wristbands for their team.”
