BM TRADA’s timber frame consultant Lewis Taylor will be providing a CPD presentation on timber construction in a forthcoming Wood for Good seminar entitled ‘Meeting the Housing Challenge’.
The half-day seminar, which takes place on October 15th at the Building Centre, London, will highlight the ways modern timber construction methods are helping meet that challenge, with case studies from leading architects, manufacturers and housing associations. As such, it is a must attend event for anyone involved in housing delivery in the UK.
Keynote speaker Alan Benson, senior manager, housing strategy for Greater London Authority will discuss housing strategy for London, while other sessions include timber systems for mixed housing development, controlling supply chain costs in Housing Association projects and high rise urban timber living.
The event opens at 1.30pm for coffee and reception with a 2pm start time. After the seminars, there will be an opportunity for drinks and networking from 5pm.
The seminar is accredited for CPD by RIBA. The event also coincides with the “New Ideas for Housing” exhibition at the Building Centre, run jointly between New London Architecture and The Mayor of London. The exhibition is showcasing innovative ideas to improve the speed, scale and quality of London’s housing supply. It is free to view.
